Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Java, REST APIs, and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) to design and develop innovative solutions for front-office trading and Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP) settlement.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Hyperledger Fabric and/or Canton/Daml, smart contract development, and integration of distributed ledger platforms with trading, custody, and payment systems. Strong knowledge of capital markets, securities settlement, and post-trade processing is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement distributed ledger solutions using Hyperledger Fabric and Canton/Daml.
  • Develop and maintain smart contracts using Daml and Chaincode with Go or Java.
  • Build and integrate REST APIs, gRPC services, and Kafka-based messaging solutions.
  • Integrate distributed ledger platforms with trading, custody, and payment systems.
  • Implement Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP) settlement workflows, atomic settlement, and tokenized asset solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of trade lifecycle management, securities settlement, and post-trade processing.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, and operations teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant applications.
  • Support application deployment and operations using cloud technologies, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Implement appropriate data privacy, access control, and permissioning models for distributed ledger applications.

Required Technical Skills

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java development and REST API integration.
  • Practical experience with Hyperledger Fabric and/or Canton/Daml.
  • Experience developing smart contracts, Daml workflows, or blockchain Chaincode.
  • 5+ years of experience in capital markets technology.
  • Strong understanding of investment banking, trading systems, securities settlement, and post-trade processes.
  • Experience with distributed systems and enterprise application integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Scala programming.
  • Familiarity with Kafka and gRPC.
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Experience with equities, fixed income, digital assets, or tokenization.
  • Understanding of atomic settlement, DvP workflows, and digital asset custody.
  • Knowledge of distributed ledger privacy, security, and permissioning models.
