Privacy notice (draft)

This is a draft. Tekjobs Inc has not had it reviewed by a lawyer yet, and the wording will change before it is final. It describes, in plain language, what we hold and why.

Who is responsible

Tekjobs Inc decides what is collected here and why, for the TekJobs service.

What we hold about an employer user

• Your name, your work email address, your phone number if you give one, and your company.
• A hash of your password. We never store the password itself and we cannot read it.
• The time you last signed in, and the address your browser connected from when a security limit needed it.
• A record of what your account did: profiles opened, files downloaded, jobs posted, plans requested, and the version of these documents you accepted.

What we hold about a candidate

• What the candidate gave us: their profile, their contact details and their CV.
• Where an application went, and which employer opened it.

A candidate's contact details are shown to an employer only when that employer opens the profile or receives an application, and every such opening is recorded. For a job posted by our recruiting team, every opening by the team is recorded; a copy the team shares with the client happens outside the service and is not.

Why we hold it

• To run the service you or a candidate asked us to run.
• To keep it secure, which includes limiting sign-in attempts and keeping a record of what was done.
• To meet an obligation the law places on us.

Who else sees it

Nobody buys this data from us. We use suppliers to run the service, such as hosting and email delivery, and they act on our instructions only. We share data with an authority when the law requires it.

When you apply to a job marked "Posted by TekJobs", our recruiting team receives the application and may share it with the client company named on that job, for that job only.

How long we keep it

We keep an account and its records while the account exists and for as long afterwards as the law requires. Records of what was done are kept as evidence and are never edited in place.

What you can ask for

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where the law gives you that right. A candidate can remove their own profile from within the service. Write to us and we will answer.

Cookies

We set a cookie that keeps you signed in and a cookie that protects a form from being submitted by another site. We do not use advertising cookies.

Changes

When this notice changes we publish a new version and keep the old one.
