Terms of service (draft)

This is a draft. Tekjobs Inc has not had it reviewed by a lawyer yet, and the wording will change before it is final. It is published so that what you agree to is written down and recorded, rather than left unsaid.

Who you are agreeing with

TekJobs is a service operated by Tekjobs Inc. In this document "we" and "us" mean Tekjobs Inc, and "you" means the person using the service and the company they work for.

What the service does

TekJobs lets an employer search a bank of candidate profiles, open the ones it wants to contact, post jobs, and receive applications. What an account may do depends on the plan it holds. The plan sets a count for each kind of action, and we tell you what is left.

Your account

You give us a company name, your name, your email address and a password. You keep the password to yourself, you tell us if you think someone else has it, and you are responsible for what is done with your account. We may end an account that is used to break these terms or the law.

What you may not do

• Take the profiles or the data out of the service in bulk, by hand or by machine.
• Use a candidate's details for anything other than considering them for a role you are hiring for.
• Send anyone a message they have asked not to receive.
• Try to reach data your account was not given.
• Discriminate against a candidate on any ground the law protects.

Candidate data

Candidate details belong to the candidates. When you open a profile you become responsible for handling what you see in line with the law that applies to you. We keep a record of every profile your account opens, and we may show it to you and use it to answer a question from a candidate or a regulator.

Money

Plans are arranged with us directly. A plan starts when we grant it and runs for the number of days the plan states. Counts are not carried over into a new period. We do not take a payment inside the service yet.

What we promise, and what we do not

We work to keep the service available and the data accurate, and we cannot promise either without exception. The service is provided as it is. Nothing here removes a right you have under a law that cannot be set aside by agreement.

Ending it

You may stop using the service at any time. We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach, and we will say why.

Changes

When these terms change we publish a new version and keep the old one. What you agreed to is the version recorded against your account on the day you accepted it.
