Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior SAP FS-RI Consultant with strong hands-on experience in SAP Reinsurance configuration, reinsurance accounting, and insurance business processes. The ideal candidate will have expertise across treaty and facultative reinsurance and experience integrating SAP FS-RI with SAP S/4HANA Finance and SAP FS-CD.

The consultant will work closely with Finance, Actuarial, Business, and IT teams to deliver functional solutions, support testing and production issues, and ensure accurate reinsurance processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze reinsurance business requirements and translate them into SAP FS-RI functional solutions.
  • Configure and support treaty and facultative reinsurance processes.
  • Set up and maintain reinsurance contracts, treaties, sections, and participation structures.
  • Support premium calculations, estimates, postings, claims, recoveries, commissions, and settlements.
  • Manage UPR, reinstatement premiums, and period-end reinsurance activities.
  • Ensure accurate reinsurance accounting and postings to SAP S/4HANA Finance.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Coordinate integrations between SAP FS-RI, SAP FS-CD, SAP FI, and other enterprise systems.
  • Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, and test scenarios.
  • Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, and production issues.
  • Investigate posting errors, reconciliation issues, and data discrepancies.
  • Participate in change management, transports, and release activities.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Business, and IT stakeholders.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and support distributed/onshore-offshore teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of SAP experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on SAP FS-RI experience.
  • Strong reinsurance domain expertise.
  • Experience with Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance.
  • Strong knowledge of Proportional and Non-Proportional structures.
  • Experience with Ceded and Assumed Reinsurance.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance accounting principles.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, including FI-GL, FI-AP, and FI-AR.
  • Experience with SAP FS-CD.
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and production environments.
  • Insurance/Reinsurance industry experience is mandatory.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and non-SAP system interfaces.
  • Basic ABAP debugging and log-analysis experience.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
