Job Title: Data Analyst
Location: St. Louis, MO
Type: Contract to Hire
Description:
We are looking for someone who can serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, with ownership of metric governance, testing, data quality, and business support activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Metric Validation & Release Sign-Off
- Validate and reconcile executive, advisor, and board-facing metrics against source systems prior to release.
- Execute release sign-off and document any exceptions.
- Maintain metric definitions, calculation logic, lineage, and supporting documentation.
- Escalate validation issues and coordinate remediation with business data owners.
- Recommend hold/release decisions when discrepancies are identified.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Define test cases based on business requirements and metric definitions.
- Coordinate stakeholder validation activities for releases.
- Perform regression testing across dashboards, reports, and metrics impacted by changes.
- Log, track, and verify defect resolution.
- Provide release readiness recommendations to data product owners.
Data Quality & Source Remediation
- Define and maintain recurring data quality checks.
- Investigate data quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with business data owners to resolve source data defects.
- Perform ongoing reconciliation of reporting outputs against source systems.
- Report data quality status and open issues to product owners.
Business & Stakeholder Support
- Partner with stakeholders to define requirements and business logic for new metrics and reporting enhancements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for questions regarding metric definitions and reported results.
- Maintain documentation that supports stakeholder self-service and adoption.
Desired qualifications:
- Strong SQL and analytical skills.
- Experience supporting business-critical reporting and metric validation.
- Experience with UAT, data quality management, and root cause analysis.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting platforms.
- Strong documentation and requirements gathering experience.
