Linux Engineer
Introduction:
The Linux Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and administering Oracle Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. They will collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operation in a large enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle Linux and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
- Perform Linux package management and configure required services and system settings.
- Integrate Linux servers with Active Directory and troubleshoot authentication and access issues.
- Support security hardening and installation of security and monitoring tools.
- Document server configurations, troubleshooting steps, and completed work.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams to resolve issues.
- Provide technical support to existing Linux resources.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on Linux administration experience, particularly with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Oracle Linux.
- Experience installing and configuring Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.
- Experience troubleshooting Linux operating system and server configuration issues.
- Experience integrating Linux servers with Active Directory.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.
- Ability to work onsite as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Oracle applications running on Linux.
- Experience with Carbon Black, Tripwire, or similar security platforms.
- Experience in a large enterprise, utility, or highly regulated environment.
- Previous experience supporting a large-scale Oracle implementation or Network Management System (NMS) environment.
