Client: Texas Department of Transportation

Working Title: Business Analyst

Pay Rate: $ 50/hr C2C/1099

Expected Duration: 12 months / 2080 hours (11/2/26 - 11/2/27)​

The role is based in Austin and requires onsite presence 5 days per week at the TxDOT offices at 6230 E Stassney Ln,

Austin, TX 78744, during normal work hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Candidates must reside in the Austin area and be

authorized to work in the U.S.

TxDOT has issued a request for an experienced technical Business Analyst to evaluate business systems, user needs, processes, and opportunities to improve operations through technology. The work includes business-process reengineering, process mapping, solution analysis, risk and financial evaluation, detailed requirements, and translating business needs into system or application changes. Candidates should have at least seven years of technical Business Analyst experience plus hands-on data analysis experience using tools such as Excel or Tableau.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Review and analyze business systems, user needs, and existing processes to identify opportunities for improved technology solutions and business effectiveness.
  • Perform business-process mapping and reengineering, develop solution options, identify risks, and support financial analyses such as cost/benefit, ROI, and buy-versus-build evaluations.
  • Document detailed user needs, program functions, business requirements, and the steps required to develop or modify computer applications.

Minimum Candidate Characteristics:

  • 7 years of experience in the field or a related area as a Senior Business Analyst (Technical).
  • 7 years of familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures applicable to business and systems analysis.
  • 2 years of data-analysis experience analyzing raw data using Excel, Tableau, or similar tools.

Exceptional Candidate Characteristics:

  • Experience with one or more Texas state agencies.
