Position: junior software engineer

Onsite: 5 days onsite

Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret

Location: El Segundo, CA or Albuquerque, New Mexico locals preferred

Rate: $105/hr on PV w-2

Contract: 6-12 months extension (they would like to bring someone on perm)

Project Scope:

• Support Boeing Defense, Space & Security's Rapid Space Capabilities (RSC) portfolio developing next-generation space and ground software systems. These Software Engineers will contribute across the software development lifecycle including requirements, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of mission-critical applications supporting space, mission, and command-and-control environments. While space domain knowledge is beneficial, the priority for these lower-level Software Engineers is strong software development capability, with opportunities to learn the mission and ground systems domain from senior team members.

Team Size & Breakdown:

• Immediate Need:
• 4 Software Engineers (individual contributors)

Future Growth:

Team expected to scale to approximately 50 total software engineers

Supporting Environment:

Software development team supporting space and ground system programs

Leads will provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers

High-Level Individual Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and services
• Develop backend software components and APIs
• Support system integration and testing activities
• Participate in code reviews and software quality activities
• Collaborate with systems engineering and mission teams to implement requirements
• Work within Agile and DevSecOps development environments
• Support software deployment, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities
• Contribute to the development of ground systems, mission systems, and command-and-control applications
• Utilize CI/CD pipelines and source control tools for software delivery

Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools):

• Strong software engineering fundamentals
• Backend software development experience
• Object-oriented programming experience
• Java, C%2B%2B, Python, or JavaScript development experience
• Experience with REST APIs/services

Security Requirements

• Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance required on Day 1
• TS/SCI highly preferred
