Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end implementation of new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) modules and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology project management within healthcare or state government, with expertise in project planning, vendor coordination, risk management, and system implementation.
The successful candidate will oversee project schedules, scope, budgets, implementation plans, and risk mitigation strategies while ensuring project deliverables meet established requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of new Medicaid Management Information System modules and components.
- Develop and manage project schedules, scope, budgets, implementation plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate multiple vendors and project managers through master scheduling and project governance processes.
- Monitor project risks, timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Ensure final project deliverables meet requirements for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
- Coordinate resources across multiple vendors and state teams throughout planning, implementation, go-live, and certification.
- Analyze project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams.
- Provide regular project updates and communicate progress, risks, and issues to appropriate audiences.
- Present project status, progress, and key issues to executive leadership and legislative stakeholders.
- Gather requirements and prioritize the execution of data aggregation, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
- Identify critical-path dependencies and ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks, issues, and decision-making needs to management.
- Develop stakeholder engagement strategies to build awareness, obtain support, and coordinate project partners.
- Support change management, training, and communication activities to facilitate the successful rollout of new systems and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in technology projects within healthcare or state government.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with change management, training coordination, and communication for the rollout of new systems and processes.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with system and data conversion from legacy systems to new systems.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project deadlines, dependencies, and critical-path activities.
- Experience gathering requirements and prioritizing data aggregation, analytics, and report development.
- Ability to identify project risks and issues early and collaborate with management to resolve them.
- Experience identifying key stakeholders, facilitating decision-making, and developing strategies to encourage stakeholder awareness and support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with state government agencies, particularly agencies in Idaho.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with state Medicaid agencies.
- Experience implementing Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) or similar healthcare technology platforms.
- Experience coordinating complex, multi-vendor technology implementations.
- Familiarity with enterprise data warehouses, data conversion, analytics, reporting, and system certification processes.
