Position Title: Senior PHP Engineer

A growing, technology-driven marketing organization is seeking a Senior PHP Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance custom web applications and lead data systems that directly support business revenue. This role will focus on building scalable PHP applications, optimizing databases, modernizing legacy systems, and collaborating with engineering teams across the US and internationally to improve performance and expand technical capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of professional PHP development experience, strong object-oriented programming skills, and expertise in MySQL, AWS, and Linux environments. This individual is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, takes ownership of technical challenges, and is comfortable working independently within a custom PHP codebase.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance custom PHP web applications and lead data management systems
• Build scalable, object-oriented applications within a custom PHP codebase without relying on traditional frameworks
• Maintain existing PHP 5.6 applications while supporting modernization and migration to PHP 8
• Design, optimize, and manage MySQL databases, including table structures, indexing, and query performance
• Develop and improve systems for storing, retrieving, analyzing, and scoring lead data
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the US and Israel to improve system functionality, streamline workflows, and support ongoing development
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools, Git, AWS, and Linux environments to improve development efficiency and maintain reliable applications

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional PHP development experience, including hands-on experience with PHP 8 and exposure to legacy PHP 5.6
• Strong object-oriented programming skills and experience architecting large applications without traditional PHP frameworks
• 5+ years of SQL experience, including database design, table structures, indexing, and optimization
• 1+ year of AWS experience, proficiency working in Linux environments, and experience using Git for version control
• Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted coding tools in software development
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges, make informed decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international engineering teams and maintain overlapping Eastern Time business hours
• Experience with LLM APIs, lead generation platforms, or French language proficiency is a plus
