Data Center Technician
Help keep global cloud infrastructure running. You'll maintain data center operations that power millions of businesses and services worldwide. The role is 24/7, works both independently and as part of a diverse, collaborative team, and requires strong prioritization, communication, and quick reaction. Travel within and outside the regional work area is required.
Responsibilities
- Install server racks, perform hardware break-fix, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to incidents affecting service availability, escalating as needed
- Serve as a primary contact for engineers, developers, vendors, and contractors
- Take on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management
- Contribute to documentation and process improvements
- Train and onboard new team members
- Own technical issues, solve problems at the root, and maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting
Physical and Schedule Requirements
- Work in cramped or elevated spaces, climb ladders and stairs, and stand or walk 8+ hours a day
- Work in a noisy environment
- Work shifts longer than 8 hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Have a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license (no company transportation is provided)
- Travel or commute to active data center sites as needed, including temporary assignments for training if your site is still under development
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of network design, protocols, and Layer 1/2 troubleshooting
- Associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering) or equivalent experience
- Experience managing priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience in a data center or other critical environment
