Role: Principal / Lead Software Engineer
Location: 100% Remote
Type: Contract
Job Details:
- LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE IS A MUST
- The manager specifically wants candidates who have actual Lead/Principal-level experience and can technically guide an engineering team.
Candidates should have experience with:
- Leading and mentoring 4-8 engineers
- Conducting code reviews and establishing coding standards
- Making and influencing technical and architectural decisions
- Removing technical blockers and guiding engineers
- Partnering with Product Managers and Architects
- Translating business requirements into technical roadmaps
- Driving engineering best practices, CI/CD, security and observability
- Participating in technical interviews and hiring
- Working effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
- Supporting Agile/Scrum teams and facilitating sprint ceremonies
Strong hands-on experience in:
- Java 11+
- Spring Boot/Spring Cloud/Spring Security / Spring Data
- MS SQL/T-SQL - complex queries, stored procedures, indexing & performance tuning
- React - strong modern front-end experience
- Kafka - event streaming & distributed microservices
- Claude/AI tools - hands-on experience
- Microservices architecture
- Docker/Kubernetes / AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform - strong plus
