I'm currently looking for a Cockroach DB Database Engineer to join a high-impact enterprise database engineering team for one of our clients.
We're seeking a hands-on engineer with expertise in CockroachDB administration and architecture who can help design, build, and operationalize a scalable Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform on Linux.
Key qualifications include:
Hands-on CockroachDB DBA experience
Knowledge of distributed databases, replication, consistency, and consensus models
Expertise building automation with Ansible Playbooks
Scripting experience with Bash/Shell
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
Database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
High availability, disaster recovery, backup/restore, and failover strategies
Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk
Experience supporting enterprise-scale, multi-region deployments
Nice to have:
Terraform or similar IaC tools
CI/CD integration for database provisioning
Financial services or other regulated industry experience
Experience leveraging AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot
