Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Treasury & Payments

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Type: Full-time

Work Model: Hybrid - onsite and remote

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end project delivery across initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, implementation, stabilization, and closure for complex Treasury, Payments, Wires, and financial services technology initiatives.

• Take ownership of complex projects already in progress, quickly assessing current status, outstanding deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, resource constraints, and critical path activities.

• Develop, maintain, and actively manage comprehensive project plans covering scope, milestones, critical paths, dependencies, resources, budgets, deliverables, risks, and implementation timelines.

• Partner with Program Management, Product, Operations, Technology, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, QA, and other stakeholders to align project execution with business objectives, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and modernization strategies.

• Coordinate complex system integrations, testing, UAT, production readiness, implementation, cutover, and post production activities across multiple platforms and business functions.

• Establish effective project governance and maintain clear accountability for decisions, deliverables, actions, and dependencies.

• Proactively manage RAID items-Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies-driving mitigation plans, issue resolution, escalation, and timely decision making.

• Prepare and deliver concise, executive level project reporting covering overall health, milestones, financials, risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and upcoming priorities.

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, resource plans, and financial performance while identifying potential delivery or financial risks early.

• Manage relationships with external vendors, technology providers, consultants, and internal delivery teams, ensuring contractual deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and quality expectations are clearly understood and achieved.

• Facilitate project meetings, governance forums, working sessions, and executive discussions to drive alignment, accountability, and decisions.

• Coordinate stakeholder communications and change activities to support successful implementation and adoption.

• Lead delivery across geographically distributed teams, including U.S. based, offshore, and nearshore resources as applicable.

• Apply the appropriate combination of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery practices based on project complexity, milestones, dependencies, and implementation requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, project controls, reporting, governance, and overall execution effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 7-10+ years of project management experience, preferably within banking, financial services, fintech, or another highly regulated enterprise environment.

• Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross functional initiatives involving Treasury, Payments, Wires, Fee Income, banking operations, or financial services technology.

• Proven ownership of the complete project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, budgeting, resource management, critical path management, dependency management, risk mitigation, implementation, and closure.

• Strong experience developing and maintaining detailed integrated project plans, milestone schedules, dependency plans, and implementation roadmaps.

• Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, resources, and financial performance.

• Strong experience coordinating complex technology integrations and delivery across Product, Operations, Engineering/Technology, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, QA, and other enterprise teams.

• Experience coordinating SIT, UAT, production readiness, implementation/cutover, and post production stabilization activities.

• Proven experience managing external vendors and technology providers, including deliverables, dependencies, issues, contractual commitments, implementation activities, and stakeholder expectations.

• Strong understanding of RAID management, project governance, executive reporting, escalation management, and delivery controls.

• Strong working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies, particularly for initiatives involving milestone based delivery across multiple technical and business workstreams.

• Hands on experience with project and delivery management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps (ADO), ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence, or comparable platforms.

• Excellent leadership, organizational, facilitation, negotiation, and problem solving skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and drive accountability across complex, geographically distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, SAFe, CSM, or another recognized project or Agile delivery certification.

• Experience delivering large scale payments modernization, Treasury transformation, wire transfer, or banking platform initiatives.

• Experience working with payment processing platforms, financial networks, banking integrations, or third party financial technology providers.

• Experience managing projects with significant regulatory, compliance, audit, risk, or security requirements.

• Experience joining complex initiatives already underway and successfully establishing delivery structure, governance, and momentum.

• Consulting experience working directly with enterprise clients and senior stakeholders.
