The Senior Radiological Engineer plays a critical role in supporting this mission by ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of sophisticated diagnostic imaging equipment used in patient care.
The Senior Radiological Engineer supports Diagnostic Imaging operations at the Northwest Houston location by performing advanced technical assignments related to the maintenance and operation of diagnostic imaging units and other complex radiation-producing equipment. The Senior Radiological Engineer works closely with vendors, clinical teams, and engineering resources to optimize equipment functionality, maintain image quality standards, and support ongoing operational excellence. The Senior Radiological Engineer impacts imaging equipment functionality, performance, and image quality control throughout Diagnostic Imaging.
The ideal candidate is an active problem solver and analytical troubleshooter who proactively utilizes resources, pursues issue resolution, maintains a methodical and organized approach to work, seeks opportunities for process improvement, and remains observant and engaged. A degree in Engineering is preferred; a degree in the Sciences with experience in hospital imaging environments is also accepted. Preferred experience includes supporting diagnostic imaging equipment, clinical systems networks, vendor coordination, and equipment commissioning activities.

Responsibilities
Equipment Service & Maintenance
Oversee all Diagnostic Imaging equipment service issues
Direct repairs and guide resources to resolve equipment malfunctions
Troubleshoot network, equipment, and operator issues affecting performance
Provide direction to radiological engineers regarding equipment malfunctions and corrective actions
Maintain imaging equipment functionality, performance, and image quality control
Vendor & Contract Management
Coordinate and oversee activities between service vendors and Diagnostic Imaging
Assist with the analysis and implementation of service contracts
Ensure service vendors meet established service contract obligations
Quality Control & Operational Support
Identify operator errors and provide instructions and feedback to operators
Provide follow-up and recommend resolutions for Quality Control (QC) issues
Oversee Quality Control resolution activities to support imaging quality standards
Inventory & Technical Review
Maintain parts and instrumentation inventory
Review design, construction, and electrical drawings through visual interpretation of blueprints and product specifications
Support technical evaluation of equipment and infrastructure requirements
Equipment Procurement & Installation
Evaluate equipment purchases and procurement decisions
Assist with commissioning and implementation of new equipment
Provide clinical systems network support and assist with ongoing development initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION
- Required: Associate's Degree Biomedical Technology, Electronics or related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Physics or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Required: 5 years Experience in electronics or imaging equipment service. or
- Required: 3 years Required experience with Bachelor's degree.
- : May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
