Title: Frontend Software Engineer, Scientific Applications
Location: Remote - US (Must be available during Pacific Time business hours)
Pay Rate: $50/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, W-2 Contract (Benefits Included)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer, Frontend Applications to develop intuitive, high-performance web applications that support scientific research and computational drug discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and maintain modern web applications integrated with backend services, APIs, and relational databases.
- Create interfaces and user-facing tools that allow researchers to configure, launch, monitor, and analyze complex computational workflows.
- Build interactive dashboards and visual representations to track computational progress, system performance, and scientific results.
- Partner closely with software engineers, AI/ML scientists, and computational biologists to support R&D workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computational Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant software engineering experience in industry, academia, or a research environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Strong hands-on experience developing modern web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of frontend architecture, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with backend APIs and relational databases.
- Experience developing interactive dashboards, data-driven interfaces, or visualizations for technical users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing software applications for scientific research, engineering, computational biology, chemistry, or other data-intensive technical domains.
- Familiarity with data visualization libraries and frameworks such as D3.js, Plotly, or similar technologies.
- Full-stack development experience, including exposure to Python or other backend programming languages.
- Experience building interfaces for computational workflows, job monitoring, data analysis, or research platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based applications, distributed computing environments, or machine learning platforms.
- Experience collaborating directly with scientists, researchers, or other specialized technical users to develop software solutions.
