Job Responsibilities

Acts as primary administrator for SCDOT's SQL database and server environment. This includes the design, development and support of all SQL servers and applications. Installs and configures SQL databases and ensures database integrity and security.

Acts as primary administrator for SQL Reporting Services Server. This includes the design, deployment and support of SQL Reporting Services Server.

Acts as primary administrator for SCDOT's SQL data backup/restoration environment. This includes using SQL utilities to manage backup data and logs to ensure data integrity, backup and restoration.

Acts as primary administrator to provide SQL development environment and support for SCDOT's applications development staff. This includes deploying and maintaining a test/dev/production server environment and deploying client developer tools on clients PC in a VMware environment.

Acts as an administrator of SCDOT's Internet Information Server environment. This includes the design, deployment and support of all IIS servers. Installs and configures IIS and ensure database integrity, security and backup. Ensures that all available security patches are applied to all servers.

Acts as an administrator of SCDOT's 3rd party vendor server applications. This includes the design, deployment and support of vendor servers and applications. Ensures that all available security patches are applied to all servers.

Provides technical support to SCDOT and third-party applications developers. This includes assistance with problem diagnosis and resolution of SQL databases and applications. This includes the installation and support of SQL development tools including client software.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or a related field and three (3) years of experience in systems development and maintenance, technical support or the support of complex database management systems, or an approved acceptable equivalence in accordance with State Human Resources Regulations. A valid motor

vehicle operator's license is required.

The physical demands for the essential functions includes sitting or standing at a desk for an extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside normal business hours.
