Duties
Help
- Performs maintenance and construction work of a technical nature required at multiple operationalCorps of Engineers facilities including planning, coordinating, inspecting, and supervising work of contractors.
- Selectee collects data and prepares sketches or other design criteria to define work function for engineering personnel who are developing required plans and specifications
- Serves as an Area Office Project representative for Asset Management initiatives by directly supporting the field and being the liaison between the Maintenance Control Specialists/District Asset Managers and the field personnel.
- Provides input on program needs for inclusion in budget cycle.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Planning detailed phases of maintenance through construction or service contracts, hired labor or in combination of both to complete construction projects for different facilities AND 2) Managing asset and maintenance management systems to prioritize deficiencies and develop budget requirements supporting maintenance, repair, and construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
