If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are looking for a seasoned Auto-Mechanic who is ready to apply their skills in the fast-paced construction industry. Responsibilities:
As an Auto-Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Performing routine maintenance and general mechanic work on construction vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues with engines, motors, and other key vehicle components.
- Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faulty components or systems and implement effective solutions.
- Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
- Repairing and replacing broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
- Providing accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure the smooth operation of construction projects.
- Keeping logs on work and issues, and maintaining equipment and tools in good condition.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Auto-Mechanic, preferably within the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles and construction equipment.
- Proficiency in using various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and overnight.
- A valid license to practice profession or relevant certification (e.g. ASE) is preferred.
