Job Title: Java Full Stack Lead - Payments Domain
Location: Quincy, MA / Boston, MA
Work Mode: Hybrid - 3 to 4 days onsite per week
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Architect with strong expertise in the Payments or Trade Finance domain to design and develop a scalable, real-time transaction monitoring platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Elasticsearch, ELK Stack, Azure Cloud, and distributed microservices architecture.
The platform will provide end-to-end visibility into financial transactions, monitor transaction statuses, identify processing delays and failures, and support exception management and SLA tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a scalable transaction lifecycle tracking platform from the ground up.
- Develop enterprise-grade solutions using Java, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
- Design and optimize Elasticsearch clusters, index mappings, data models, and ingestion pipelines.
- Build real-time dashboards and visualizations using Kibana for transaction monitoring, exception tracking, and performance analysis.
- Develop reusable APIs and integration frameworks to connect multiple upstream and downstream systems.
- Integrate applications with Kafka, message queues, REST APIs, and other event-streaming technologies.
- Implement workflow management, automated exception handling, and work-item creation capabilities.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, security, performance, and compliance with data retention requirements.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases to support high-volume transaction processing and analytics.
- Lead architecture discussions, establish technical standards, mentor developers, and guide engineering teams.
- Support Agile delivery, resource planning, vendor coordination, project governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience in Java development and enterprise application architecture.
- Extensive experience with Elasticsearch, ELK Stack, and Kibana, including cluster sizing, indexing strategies, performance tuning, mappings, and ingest pipelines.
- Proven experience in Payments, Trade Finance, Banking, or financial transaction processing systems.
- Experience designing distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka, messaging systems, REST APIs, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience with Azure Cloud Services and cloud-based application deployments.
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience building real-time monitoring, transaction tracking, or lifecycle management platforms.
- Strong understanding of system scalability, high availability, security, and performance optimization.
- Excellent technical leadership, architecture design, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with experience in payment processing platforms, trade finance applications, transaction monitoring systems, or high-volume financial event tracking will be highly preferred.
Mandatory Skills: Azure Cloud Services, Elasticsearch, Java, Trade Finance.
