Role: Java FSD Lead - Payments Domain

Location: Quincy, MA / Boston, MA - Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and build a scalable transaction lifecycle tracking and monitoring platform.
  • Architect solutions using the Elastic Stack, including data modeling, index design, ingestion pipelines, and large-scale search/analytics.
  • Develop real-time dashboards using Kibana for transaction monitoring, exception tracking, bottleneck analysis, and SLA management.
  • Design distributed, event-driven microservices architectures.
  • Define standard APIs, integration patterns, and reusable onboarding frameworks.
  • Integrate Kafka, MQ, APIs, and heterogeneous source systems.
  • Design workflow and exception-handling capabilities, including automated alerts and work-item creation.
  • Ensure scalability, high availability, performance, security, and data-retention compliance.
  • Lead architecture decisions and collaborate with engineering teams.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical leadership.
  • Support Agile delivery, program architecture, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to workforce planning, resource allocation, vendor coordination, and financial/project management.

Must-Have Skills

  • Java - Strong hands-on development experience.
  • Elasticsearch / ELK Stack - Cluster sizing, performance tuning, mappings, indexing strategies, ingest pipelines, and Kibana.
  • Azure Cloud Services.
  • Strong Payments / Trade Finance domain experience.
  • Experience with high-volume event tracking, transaction monitoring, order tracking, or trade lifecycle systems.
  • Distributed, event-driven, microservices architecture.
  • Kafka / MQ / Event Streams.
  • API development and integration.
  • Relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with real-time monitoring, dashboards, exception management, and SLA tracking.
