Job Title: Agile/Scrum Project Manager - AWS & Java
Location: Malvern, PA/Onsite
Position Type: Full time/Permanent role
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Agile/Scrum Project Manager with strong knowledge of AWS cloud technologies and Java/Python-based application development to lead software development projects from initiation through delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies, project planning, stakeholder management, and software delivery, along with enough technical understanding of Java/python and AWS to effectively collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end software development projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, developers, QA engineers, architects, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
- Track project scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, and budgets.
- Remove impediments and proactively resolve delivery and cross-team dependencies.
- Manage project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Provide regular project status reports and executive-level updates.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
- Coordinate multiple Agile teams and manage dependencies across teams where required.
- Work with technical teams on Java/J2EE/Python-based applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-based application architectures.
- Coordinate with DevOps teams on CI/CD, deployment, release management, and production readiness.
- Support cloud migration, modernization, application development, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Monitor Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown/burnup, cycle time, and release progress.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and promote Agile best practices.
- Ensure effective communication among technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in IT/software project management, with significant experience managing Agile projects.
- Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development life cycles.
- Experience managing Java/J2EE/python application development projects.
- Good understanding of AWS cloud services, cloud architecture, and cloud deployment models.
- Strong experience with project planning, estimation, risk management, issue management, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience working with distributed/global development teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
