Job Description

Job Role: Lead SDET / Senior SDET (QA Mindset)

Location: Hybrid mode - 3 days onsite a week - Irvine, CA.

Mandatory Skills - Java, API testing, CI/CD, Rest Assured, Selenium, Playwright, Framework Design

While this is primarily a hands-on automation testing role, a strong foundation in test design is essential. The candidate will not be building frameworks, but will be responsible for end-to-end test case design, development, and execution. As the sole onsite automation resource, this senior individual will also drive offshore coordination and provide technical guidance on test and framework design.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Software Testing, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience in automation testing using Selenium and Java.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in test scenario design, test case creation, and test execution.
  • Hands-on experience with Selenium, Java, API testing, REST Assured, and Postman.
  • Experience testing web applications and microservices-based architectures.
  • Ability to create and manage test data and track/report test results.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business process validation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
  • Exposure to Playwright and TypeScript is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements.
  • Develop and execute automated and functional test scripts.
  • Perform UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Create and maintain test data and analyze test results.
  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in defect analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations.
  • Support the organization's transition from Selenium/Java to Playwright/TypeScript.
