About the job
Monte Sano Research Corporation (MSRC) is a Huntsville-based Small Business specializing in providing full-spectrum defense system engineering, research, design, development, integration, test, evaluation, and planning services to the U.S. Government.
As an ESOP company, our employee-owners are personally invested in the success of our customers, our programs, and one another. Our primary focus at MSRC is to provide extraordinary talent to propel the Warfighter, and we seek to hire people who are Elevated (always do the right thing), Exceptional (the very best at what they do), and Enduring (self-disciplined; self-motivated).
MSRC is seeking an experienced and certified Network Integration & Test Engineer to support Army test recording, data distribution, and system-of-systems (SoS) integration enclaves. This position will design, configure, secure, and maintain the tactical and enterprise architectures used to capture, distribute, and analyze data during live and simulated military test events. The primary mission is to ensure seamless network interoperability between Unit Under Test (UUT) and active military enclaves (NIPR/SIPR/Tactical) while maintaining 100% data integrity for critical telemetry and system recording suites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop tactical networks that integrate test systems with brigade level Tactical Operations Centers (TOCs). This will include voice, video and command and control information.
- Design, configure, and maintain local and wide-area network infrastructure, routers, switches, and common-user interfaces for tactical operational centers.
- Implement Quality of Service (QoS), Secure Tunneling, and traffic shaping policies to adapt Commercial and Military network equipment to bandwidth-limited battlefield simulations.
- Communicate system network capabilities and restrictions with multiple stakeholders in industry and the armed services.
- Ensure data recording and integration tools are compliant with Authorities to Operate as necessary
- Work with cybersecurity to conduct Network Vulnerability Assessments (NVA) on networks managed by MSRC and assess compliance with the Army Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Troubleshoot any network outages, routing loops, or system handshake failures occurring during constrained test windows
- Setup military test equipment, establish network communications and support testing with military units.
Education:
- Must hold an active IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, CySA+, or EC-Council CND)
- Bachelor of Science in accredited Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related Engineering discipline preferred, can be substituted for 5 additional years experience
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience working in tactical network engineering, systems integration, or DoW test and evaluation environments
- Experience with network packet capture and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) to diagnose telemetry or protocol anomalies
- Understanding of tactical communication protocols (e.g., Link 16, VMF, standard IP networking) and tactical satellite terminals (SMART-T, Phoenix)
- Ability to troubleshoot unexpected challenges in high pressure situations
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds of server or networking equipment and work in rugged field/range environments
- Willingness to travel to demonstration events for on-site support
Additional Requirements:
- Candidate must currently possess and be able to maintain an active security clearance.
