Job Summary

The Firmware Engineer I designs, develops, tests and maintains firmware for the Metering Devices.

Key Responsibilities

Research, specify design, code, and test firmware for new products.

Existing product repair and enhancement resulting from customer feedback or other issues.

Creation of tools to assist in performing main duties (testing, debugging, designing, programming, etc.).

Technical support resource for present and past meter functionality

Creation of technical documentation.

Supports and adheres to the Company's core values.

Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.

Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required.

Experience: At least 2 -5 years of Embedded Software Development experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming C, C++

Firmware development for an embedded system including use of development and debugging tools.

Experience with unit testing and test automation.

Exposure to Real-time operating systems is a plus.

Exposure to Product Life Cycle and Software Development methodologies

Familiarity with Wireless communication and Networking protocols

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Requirement Management, Bug Management tools is desirable.

Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Working Conditions

Typical indoor office environment with the majority of time spent sitting and working on a computer using keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Occasional use of other devices such as:, copier/printer/, etc.

Physical Requirements: Typical office setting. Required to stand; walk; crouch; or handle objects. Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Ability to sit and view computer screen for long periods of time. The ability to see, hear, & speak in English. Reasonable accommodations provided for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Personal Protection Equipment/Other OHSA Safety Requirements: Ensure the continued efforts and assist in achieving annual goals of health, safety, and environmental policies. Must be current with available OSHA/Safety Training provided by the Company. If required, must be able to work while wearing safety equipment such as hard hats, work boats, gloves, hearing protection, etc.

Pay is in the range of $76,400- $92,000 per year. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
