Embedded Software Engineer
Introduction
An Embedded Software Engineer applies principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded software and systems. They work on operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software for embedded devices and systems from requirements to production.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers for database management systems.
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources.
- Develop embedded software for electronics control systems supporting various programs.
- Configure, integrate, build, and test embedded software.
- Test software for embedded electronic control systems and troubleshoot any defects.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Solid programming experience in C or C++.
- Model-Based Development experience.
- Embedded control software development experience.
- Familiarity with debuggers and good debugging skills.
- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of computer development software related to embedded systems such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
