Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Mossville, IL 61552 (Onsite)
Hire Type: Contract (10 months+)
SUMMARY:
- Apply principles of computer science and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded software and systems
- Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software
- Applications span medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing
- Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment for product lines
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
- Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
- Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project
- Develop embedded software for electronics control systems supporting diesel engine and battery electric/fuel cell programs
- Areas of responsibility include configuration, integration, build and testing of embedded software
- Test software for embedded electronic control systems, including requirements development and verification in a bench environment
- Troubleshoot software or system defects.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an embedded focus
- 5-7 years experience required
- At least five years industry experience in C programming, Model Based Development, and embedded control software development experience.
Required Skills:
- Solid programming experience in C or C++
- Model-Based Development experience
- Embedded control software development experience
- Familiarity with debuggers / good debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
Desired Skills:

- Experience with model based development tools: Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python
