Location: Lansing, MI

DTMB Agency Services needs a Business Analyst 5 to provide excellent customer service, supporting primarily project needs for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Agency.

Key responsibilities include being the liaison between DTMB and the project stakeholders, as well as providing expert facilitation and elicitation and process modeling to help develop strategy and requirements for planned enhancements and technology updates on a public facing application used to communicate current availability of burn permits in Michigan counties.

In addition, as part of the overall support for DNR, this person will be a critical member of the DTMB Agency Services Business Analyst team, participating in various related work requests for DNR and contributing to the operational activities of the BA team.

Customer service and being a champion to ease Agency compliance with DTMB policies and practices are key performance expectations for this person. They must be able to quickly gain a working understanding of applicable constraints and enablers and help DNR navigate those for the success for their projects and work requests.

Required

• Minimum of 7 years conducting business process review and requirements elicitation and documentation to include process modeling
• Minimum of 5 years developing and/or managing user stories on Agile development project(s)
• Minimum of 2 years working directly with senior management in facilitating discussions to determine strategy, develop road maps and/or gain consensus to resolve opposing positions
• Minimum of 2 years working on projects developing/implementing IT solutions for public use

Preferred

• Minimum of 2 years supporting the development of or compliance to statement of work and/or other work agreements/contracts
• Minimum of 1 year working with programs governed by state and/or federal regulations
• Bachelor's degree

Additional Info:

• Interview Process: 1st round virtual, 2nd round in-person. Candidates MUST be available for an in-person interview.
• Duration: 6 months, with the intent to potentially hire the contractor into a full-time position with SOMI within 6 months. At the time of hire, the candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship from the State of Michigan
• Hybrid: Resource will be working a hybrid schedule. NO REMOTE ONLY OPTION. Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week (Wednesdays and Thursdays are required onsite days.)
• Local candidates (strongly preferred) or non-local (must be willing to relocate at their own expense from acceptance with no delays & follow the hybrid schedule)
