About the job
Client is seeking Manufacturing engineer with 1-3 years of experience.
Engineers should have worked on manufacturing lines but have not designed one from scratch independently. Strong technically but needs guidance on scope, priorities, and cross-functional navigation. Demonstrates potential in several competency areas but has not yet owned deliverables end-to-end.
- Identifies basic manufacturability issues (access, tolerance, assembly sequence). Needs guidance on trade-off evaluation.
- Reads and interprets GD&T on drawings. Identifies obvious tolerance issues that impact assembly.
- Participates in P-FMEA sessions. Can populate severity, occurrence, and detection ratings with guidance.
- Flags risks when they encounter them during task execution. Escalates to lead.
- Can draft a URS section with guidance. Supports vendor communication on technical questions.
- Designs simple fixtures (locating, clamping) with CAD support. Understands basic fixture principles.
- Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and digital manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement methodologies
- Understands the concepts. Can collect data and calculate capability indices with guidance.
- Helps build control plans under supervision. Understands the link between FMEA and control plan.
- Understands why traceability matters. Can document serial numbers and station data with guidance.
- Knows the definitions. Can read a KPI dashboard and understand what the numbers mean.
- Uses data when presented. Asks for data before making assumptions.
- Has some exposure to assemblies involving both mechanical and electrical components. Understands basic ESD controls.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering,
Industrial Engineering, or related field.
